Blue Ribbon School

St. Luke’s Episcopal School has been named a 2023 National Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education. 
We are one of only six elementary schools in Louisiana and the sole private elementary institution in the state to earn this distinction in 2023. Head of School Charles Hoots expressed his gratitude, emphasizing the role of student achievement, innovative faculty and staff, and dedicated families in our success.
National Blue Ribbon Schools, such as St. Luke’s, serve as benchmarks for educational excellence nationwide. The rigorous selection process evaluates school culture, curriculum, assessments, teaching practices, professional development, leadership, and community engagement.
U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona praised our institution and fellow honorees, stating, “The honorees for our 2023 National Blue Ribbon Schools Award have set a national example for what it means to Raise the Bar in education.”
