Eli Palmer Shepherd's Fund
Elijah “Eli” James Palmer was a gift of the purest and gracious love to all who knew him. To celebrate his life and memorialize his service, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church is establishing the Eli Palmer Shepherd’s Fund and naming the Eli Palmer Youth Room in the new church building. Eli demonstrated true compassion in a life of service to others. It is appropriate that this fund continues the ministry that was so close to his heart. Eli Palmer April 18, 2002 – April 23, 2022
As Christians, we are called to plan for the future of our church - our spiritual family. The Vestry of St. Luke’s has established the Eli Palmer Shepherd’s Fund not only to honor Eli’s work and example at the church but to ensure youth programming will always have a prominent role within our parish.
The Shepherd’s Fund will support youth programming that may include scholarships to Vacation Bible School, Youth Mission Trips, and Happening; as well as EYC activities and programs.
Supporting the Youth Ministry is instrumental to the success of St. Luke’s. Youth Ministry calls for passion, patience, and faithfulness – pointing out the sacred in the midst of the chaos of adolescence and walking faithfully with young people as they transition from child to young adult. Youth Ministry is a bridging ministry of education, connection, formation, and hopefully, transformation. It was through St. Luke’s Youth Ministry that Eli learned discipleship and his Christian leadership.
We ask you to prayerfully consider your role in establishing the Eli Palmer Shepherd’s Fund at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. We are grateful for your generosity and commitment to ensuring an abundant future for St. Luke’s.
