Hurricane Ian made landfall in Cuba on Tuesday knocking out power to the entire country. The storm intensified to a category 4 before making landfall in southwest Florida Wednesday, with 155 mph winds. More than two million people are without power and a storm surge of up to 12 feet has caused severe flooding. The hurricane is expected to reach Georgia and South Carolina by Friday. As we work to help affected communities, we are urgently asking for your support.
Your gift today will help us act quickly to support Episcopal dioceses in areas hardest hit, as we have extensive experience preparing for and responding to disasters.
Right now, communities are still in the rescue phase. Assessments are under way — and while it will surely be weeks until we know the full extent of the damage, we're doing everything we can to connect with diocesan leaders in affected states to form a ground response as swiftly as possible.
I hope you feel called to make an urgent donation to our Hurricane Relief Fund today. Your gift will help provide immediate assistance — bringing relief and comfort to those in the wake of Hurricane Ian.
Thank you in advance for your compassion, and for praying for those affected.
