Shepherding St. Luke's

A STEWARDSHIP MESSAGE FROM
JR WARDEN ANDREA MCKEY:
My mother and I recently brought my two-year-old Shreveport granddaughter to church. We sat in the back close to one of the stained glass windows, ready to escape if needed. We came armed with a few “quiet” toys, soft books, and a baggie full of Cheerios. Turns out escape was not necessary. Amelie loved watching the service unfold. I was reminded of bringing my own children to St. Luke’s and even ofmy own childhood, sitting on the same pew.
In my mind, stewardship is as much about the future as it is about the present.
Our gifts of time, talent, and treasure will fuel our worship and outreach today. Those gifts also create a foundation and tradition for the next generation of parishioners.
And as I look to the future, our son will marry his beautiful fiancé at St. Luke’s this spring.
St. Luke’s is a strong, loving church family, and I’m watching the gifts we give today to grow as the next generation steps forward.
